So Why Secondhand?

Hey Friends,         My mom is the Queen of Thrifting. I grew up in the late 90's/ early 2000's, when all the rage in clothing was Aeropastale, Hollister and Abercrombie. I needed to have these clothes, it was crucial for my social survival! However, with 5 kids, you can bet my Mom wasn't about to go out and buy all new clothes from these ridiculously over priced retail stores. Instead, the Queen went out and brought me home my survival kit from thrift stores. As far as I could tell, it made no difference where the clothes were bought, since the name was slapped on the front in bold letters. Now that I'm older, I've embraced my birthright as being the next Queen, but I thrift for a different reason other than social survival.    Did you know that the average American threw away 81 pounds of clothing last year alone? It's true, we've become such a wasteful people. 95% of that clothing could be reused or recycled.  Now, before you go thinking I'm goi...
